my precious daughters three
One came unexpected, one came four years later,
one came three months after that, quite the surprise I'd say.
One my little brown eyed girl, one with golden hair of curls,
one with twinkles in her eye, all are gentle souls of mine.
One was older then the others, this one truly helped her Mother,
tuck me in with talks at night, I hope she knows it was my delight.
One had the role of middle child, a little bit shy, but not too mild,
smiling with two teeth missing, it never stopped a Mom from kissing.
Last one "little baby toe", she likes to sing and dance for show,
she'd bring me bugs to see, they were cute and crawly just for me.
It is known "making memories" is my theme,
from babies, to girls and these women I see.
For I will continue to cherish each one,
until my journey on earth is done.
Sweet daughters, with babes all your own,
make the memories until your babes are grown.
Vacations away or backyard fun at home,
they all are yours and yours alone.
~Before my last gal got married I took all three
on a week vacation. I gave each one this poem
and a diamond necklace for keeping their purity~

Awareness
The wetness, a ripple of water on my skin
A sound, an airplane high above the clouds
My hands, fluidly moving in the waves
Closed eyes, golden glow through my lids
Gray hair, moving and dancing in the wind
Sweet song, speedy little sparrows flying by
Metal tracks, a train moving fast across the way
Aroma air, lavender buds bursting in bloom
Eyes see, a pine tree reaching to the sky
Sweet taste, raw honey on homemade bread
Two lips, soft and warm as we kiss goodnight
Feet step, slippery pebbles in a cold creek bed
Strong arms, a hug to comfort someone dear
Gentle voice, words to help a heart that hurts
Fingers grasp, holding hands when all alone
Heart beats, a love is felt true and deep
One life, a journey on earth that one must take
No time, live each day as it were your last
Hope stays, for all of them who've made mistakes
Mindful thought, complete surrender is our task

Abide with me fast falls the eventide,
the darkness deepens, Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
help of the helpless, O abide with me!
Swift to it's close ebbs out life's little day,
earth's joy's grow dim, it's glories pass away.
Change and decay in all around I see,
O thou who changest not, abide with me!
I need thy presence ev'ry passing hour,
what but thy grace can foil the tempter's pow'r?
Who like thyself my guide, and stay can be?
Though cloud and sunshine, O abide with me!
Hold thou thy cross before my closing eyes,
shine through the gloom, and point me to the skies.
Heav'n's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee,
in life, in death, O Lord, abide with me!

Given to me from my friend
Gina Torrey for my 50th birthday.

I Walked Away
thoughts of leaving
not one second more
I had all my reasons
to walk out the door
no caring for children
that live in the house
I was hoplessly bitter
when leaving my spouse
out on my own was
freedom and peace
no one to yield too
such sweet release
loneliness set in
regret was my friend
my heart started hurting
for I knew I had sinned
I chose to go home
to where I belong
my welcome was warm
with wide open arms
I didn't just leave
the man that I love
I left our marriage
which I'm a part of
with God it's no different
when I wander away
for I am His child
He tells me to stay
when I do not listen
and do my own thing
sadness comes knowing
I'm leaving my King
my place is with Jesus
close by His side and
just like my husband
I am His bride
For my husband Ron
my precious gift from God

Lost Boy
Thoughts run through my mind
like flashing visions racing
only one...just one to find
clear to know it's meaning
words flow forth unrecognized
pacing alone the halls of time
hope feels forgotten
and faces show fear
then thoughts became very clear
Jesus shed His blood for me
a precious gift at calvary
now I know I am set free
God will never leave me lost
I recall the precious cost
hope reborn within my soul
wretched world has no control
in God's hand I'm kept secure
it's all so very crystal clear
I'm His and His for sure

Our love
the want of it, the very breath of it,
nourishes our existence
partaking as if the very lack
meant ceasing to survive
tenaciously weathering
attempts to wrench
it from our grasp
my marriage

My Son
Gentle boy with golden hair
running through my heart
my love for you dear child
has been there from the start
Outside play on a hot summer day
are memories in my mind
fishing trips and rocks that skip
are adventures left behind
My heart will hold forever son
the sparkle of your smile
I miss our special moments dear
but only for awhile
For there will come a day for me
when this life comes to an end
and I dear son will Heaven go
and join you once again
In Memory
